Based in Iceland, performance artist Hrefna Lind Lárusdóttir works across disciplines, including physical theatre, performance, dance, video installations, music, and written texts. Her performances tend to bring the audience to the borders of reality and fantasy, where she reconstructs everyday life to meet the audience in a space of the unknown.

Hrefna involves and collaborates with different artists in her process and creates a dynamic conversation in the world within which she is working.  Hrefna uses autobiographical approach to make the personal political by using different mediums to reach the audiences and allow them to engage with the social issues that she is dealing with. Her practice and output has been focusing on self-care, healing and collective care in order to give possibilities to not only survive but also be sustainable in our society.

She also hosts workshops and teaches how to use physical performance training to access impulses and tap into an unconscious, meditative source to develop output. She is a member and co-founder of the Post Performance Blues Band, which is a performance collective that has for five years been a Band. Hrefna is also a co-founder of Mannyrkjustöðin. Plant becoming project which is a performance and design duo working with happenings, performances and site specific installations.  Since 2015 she has been an artistic director of Saga Residency that brings artists to a place called Eyrarbakki, a small village where artists are exchanging ideas and working with the community.

Hrefna Lind offers the workshop by request and those who are interested, please contact the artist.
