Description in clear steps
In this workshop we are exploring the body as a tool to access our creative flow. This course is based on theories from Jerzy Grotowski. His main techniques are acting through focus and awareness, human contact, silence,memory work, voice and physical training.
We use the body as a subject and a writing tool to connect with ourselves, our ideas, spirit and material and shape it into a form. We will be working with energy, emotions, embodiment, imagination where ideas will be developed. Technical exercises in improvisation, meditation, creative writing and voice work will be practised. Furthermore, to have an idea of what is working well for your creative process.
The workshop is designed for individuals in any artistic field to tap into their creative flow and who are interested in developing happening / experience / performance/ exercise. This workshop is developed as a 5 day course, 3 hours sessions at each time. It can be changed due to circumstances in both shorter and longer versions.

Self-description of contributor and his/her offers
Based in Iceland, performance artist Hrefna Lind Lárusdóttir works across disciplines, including physical theatre, performance, dance, video installations, music, and written texts. Her performances tend to bring the audience to the borders of reality and fantasy, where she reconstructs everyday life to meet the audience in a space of the unknown.
Hrefna involves and collaborates with different artists in her process and creates a dynamic conversation in the world within which she is working. Hrefna uses autobiographical approach to make the personal political by using different mediums to reach the audiences and allow them to engage with the social issues that she is dealing with. Her practice and output has been focusing on self-care, healing and collective care in order to give possibilities to not only survive but also be sustainable in our society.
She also hosts workshops and teaches how to use physical performance training to access impulses and tap into an unconscious, meditative source to develop output. She is a member and co-founder of the Post Performance Blues Band, which is a performance collective that has for five years been a Band. Hrefna is also a co-founder of Mannyrkjustöðin. Plant becoming project which is a performance and design duo working with happenings, performances and site specific installations. Since 2015 she has been an artistic director of Saga Residency that brings artists to a place called Eyrarbakki, a small village where artists are exchanging ideas and working with the community.
