about 5 minutes

Tips for implementation

Resources/References

People who become displaced against their will, for example as refugees, or when forced to change families or social environment, face the risk of loosing their feeling for identity. It can also happen when we face extremely stressful challenges in our lives.  Creating a marker or something to remind oneself of your identity and its markers can be important and give the energy, to bundle inner resources and face life.

Learning outcomes

Through this exercise the following outcomes should be achieved:

  • collect positive memories and sources of inner power and confidence, that can also be shared with others that are still searching for anchors and symbols if stability
  • get aware of inner resources, you also like to show to others

Description in clear steps

  1. Use the paper, cut it in a form you like if you want.
  2. Listen into yourself and ask yourself: What has helped me before ? or are any colors, symbols, sounds, music, words, stories, movements,.memories to helpful people, landscapes, locations, objects coming up in your mind ? Anything that is always there in my mind?
  3. Write it on the paper (that becomes the luggage sticker).
  4. See how you feel when you hold it up, or hang it on your clothes.
  5. And see how you feel when you share it with others
