Participants choose a poem to discuss. The participant and the facilitator discuss the content of the poem and its meaning. After the discussions, the participants illustrate a poem or poems with the help of the facilitator. Participants will have the opportunity to use different methods of image creation.

Poetry and Pictures
Method
This is a course where the participants discuss specially selected poems. The participants then illustrate the poem with the supervision of the facilitator. The course can be either taken online or in the classroom.
Materials
Computer, paper, water colors, different pencils, oil colours etc.
Preparation
The participant takes whatever he/she thinks is necessary.
Time for preparation
Depends on the individual.
Tips for implementation
It is necessary to prepare participants to not being afraid of new ideas and not to expect perfection.
Resources/References
The idea of this course comes from the artist who has gained a long experience in teaching drawing, painting and creative writing.

Description in clear steps
- The facilitator introduces the project to the participants and encourages them to look at poetry books and choose a poem they want to work on.
- The participants meet either online or in the classroom. They discuss the selection of poems.
- Each participant tells how he would describe the text of the poem he has chosen.
- Participants illustrate the poem under the supervision of the facilitator
- Two and two participants discuss each other´s illustrations
- Finally each participant tells the others their thoughts about the poem and the illustrations.

Furthermore, MA in Fine Art, Goldsmiths College, University of London, UK and equivalent to BA Fine Art, The Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts, Reykjavik, Iceland – Department of Painting. Awarded for excellent results from The Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts, Reykjavík. Diploma in Creative Writing from University of Iceland.
